View Full Version : Thread Subscriptions Not Working

Anybody else having trouble receiving emails on your subscribed threads? I have mine setup for instantly using email, but I've never gotta email yet. Even though I got three threads with new posts in them, but no email. I was wondering if this site function is turned off or am I missing something?


P.S. Checked my junk mail and filters, but all clear.

Ok have you checked your thread subscription status within your settings section. You can access it from top right of the forum.

Yes I have, all four of the threads in my subscriptions are listed under notification as "instant". I also tried ticking all the boxes, then click selected threads, then update sub type, then check email instantly, and then click 'go' to save, but it has no effect.

Your settings look fine... I will check the user group to see if something isn't switched on. I do know my subscriptions work fine but that doesn't help you. :)

Its bedtime here... I will look into this in depth tomorrow and hopefully have an answer for you tomorrow evening. Not sure why it isn't working. :(

Ive been having a look at this and have flicked a few switches... let me know if you receive any emails.

Dunno why it isnt working as nothing has been changed from default. It works for me. Can someone else subscribe to this thread just to see if they get the email notification?

Of course he would have to choose instant email notification for it to work.

Interesting, I just got my first email notification from the Last Man Standing thread. The only thing I did recently was try out the various forum skins. I decided to use the British style, love the green. Not sure if it was this or one of the switches you changed Bootie. Nonetheless, it appears to be fixed, so thank you. :)

No worries... I belive it would be one of the switches as the forums are all based of the same master just different colours.

FYI, it's not working anymore. I appear to be correctly auto-subscribing to threads I post in, but just no email notification. Double checked my settings, all good nothing changed.

Have you chose a different forum skin... I havent touched anything and I got the thread subscription just fine.

Weird, I haven't changed any settings or skin since my last post in here. Changed my skin now so will see.

Changing my forum skin had no effect, no surprise there.

I was away for five days and received no emails from new posts of my subscribed threads. Currently getting emails from subscribed threads from various other forums. I've been subing to forum threads for several years now and never had this problem before.

Can some others please test this out, obviously other than Bootie. I just wanna confirm if it is indeed on my end or not.

I haven't had any problems with the ODL threads I subscribe too..... I just added this thread to my subscriptions... when another post is here I will confirm...

Ok thanks Fred. I do recall it seemed to be off and on for awhile, meaning it sometimes worked and sometimes not. But now it seems to have completely stopped for me, last email I got was on Nov. 19th. The PM email notifications work fine, no problems there for me.
