Guys this is just a personal project that Im doing at present for my father. He served in The Royal Ulster Rifles in Cyprus in the 50's and his eye sight isnt as good as it once was and he is having trouble looking over his old service pictures and has asked me to touch them up and enlarge them for him.

I have started to do this and thought I may as well share them with you guys. It may be of no interest but as I said its a personal project of my own. Feel free to comment.

Was he conscripted... Britain still have national service then, if I remember correctly?

Yeah I have pictures of him in Boys Service... very funny... kids dressed like soldiers. I have loads of pics I intend working my way through... some are so blurry that there is no point in attempting to touch them up but some are worth it... just to see the old cadger go misty eyed. :)

As you know I served with your dad in Cyprus, if you want more pics just ask I have hundreds from those days and am still in touch with a lot of old "Stickies"

hi ive just started to research my grandad who also served in the royal ulster rifles in famgusta in cyprus from 57 - 59 RFN james carroll know as jim i was just wondering if your father knew of him or served with him if you can let me know i would be very greatful as it would help with my research
