Life on the edge

We've probably all moved units too near the map edge from time to time and seen them vanish off the edge forever, and sometimes routing infantry run off the edge too.
Here's another example of when it might happen-

1- A friendy tank is approaching an infantry squad along the white arrow..

2- the infantry automatically run out of the way to avoid being crushed..

3- They slow to a walk but are still heading for the edge..
