Unfortunately, real life curcumstances prevented me from completing my project for the 1944 build of last year. In the last few weeks my life has returned to a semblance of normalcy that has allowed me to return to my passion for modelling. First on my list to do was to complete the diorama I started and I wanted to post my progress here. I won't rehash the history of the build, anyone interested can look it up in the thread covering the 1944 build.

here are some pictures of the progress;

The Opel Blitz is done except for decals and weathering.

I've also experimented a bit with how I'm going to place the cargo in the rear of the truck.

The figures are essentially done. All that remains is to add rifles to two of them. I may try to deaden the finish of the faces a bit as well as they do appear a bit "shiny"

I decided to go with a custom base and chose this one from Mini Art from the Ukraine. I am very happy with the quality and detail of this kit and I really think it is going to make the diorama stand out.

I remember this build, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how you put the diorama together. The Mini Art kit looks pretty good.

This is a hobby that I have practiced as a young man .-
But as you say, the circumstances of life left him as a good memory .- :RpS_bored:

Got some work done on the building ruin that I am incorporating in this diorama. This is a MiniArt product and I am very happy with it so far.

I like the look of the MiniArt products, and there is quite a range. It'll be nice to see the truck and resistance fighters mounted on it. Was much filling required on the fit?

Actually not as much filling as I anticipated, the fit was fairly tight for the most part. I was able to fill a lot of the seams with just liquid cement, but I did have to use some putty as well. I would give the product high ratings overall and with the extensive range they have, I will definitely use their products in the future.
