Game released yesterday - got a copy and downloaded it yesterday evening - haven't had a chance to have more than a cursory look at it yet.

BIG disappointment - they released it without functional PBEM - say it will follow as an update in a couple of weeks or so?

Thanks for the head's up. While that is disappointing, if they do enable PBEM in a couple weeks, that won't be a deal breaker. Would take me that long just to learn the play it.

I agree ... I've dabbled a bit with it over lunch today, and it looks like it has a lot of depth and not too much complexity -- although reading the manual might just be a good idea -- downloaded manual pdf on to my ipad and it'll be bedtime reading :D

Ive been dabbling too... I love the pop ups at the end of each turn advising you of historical events. Seems kinda the same as Panzer Corps / Advanced Tactics in my opinion. Enjoying it though... but think it would be something I would dip in and out of against the AI every now and again.

Yes, but if they use the same PBEM system we use for Pike and Shot, the it will be worth wAiting for. That system is really good, except you have been beating me like a drum here lately. Fecking Swiss pike and all...lol

Waiting to see what they come up with -- from what I can see with dabbling so far, the problem might be that once the war gets into full swing the opponent turn replays might be really really long as the number of units gets really large by around 1944.

As to Pike & Shot -- I think you're still wayyyyy ahead in the victory count :)

Sooo -- had a bit of time to stumble my way through the full campaign vs the AI (PBEM update still not available :() ... am at July 1941 ... conquered Poland and France in good time ... didn't bother attacking Britain directly (U-boat campaign a bit of a clumsy mess) ... been hammering Malta as much as possible ... (not been able to invade it yet) ...most Luftwaffe assets have relocated to Russian front, but they did manage to sink 3 of the Royal Navy's Med Fleet's battleships

Went in early to North Africa with an overstrength Afrikakorps that has punched through to the gates of the Nile, Alexandria has already been captured...

Mistimed getting my troops into position for Barbarossa, even with an early attack on Yugoslavia (left Greece alone at this point) -- attack on USSR starts a week or two late (that can't be good )
Snapshot from early successes on the frontier with Army Group Centre... but Moscow is still a long long long way away...

Wow, Lendlease M3 halftracks got there quick...right after Barbarossa opened, apparently...nonetheless, I am sure it's a monster. Certainly is attractive....
