I have not deserted this fine league of gentleman, or lost interest in combat mission. :D

Unfortunately, in a two bedroom house with two liddle uns (6 months and 2 years), where the gaming machine sits in the loungeroom, both gaming time and access to the gaming machine have become essentially non-existent..

I manage a little time in the wee hours now and then to play some XCOM2, but even that is frequently interrupted by awakening muchkins...

Suffice to say, I had to can a big urban FB game with @Artemis258 , as I simply could not do any turns.

I'll catch ya when I (eventually can), and will keep sniffing around the forums, living vicariously through your posts! :2charge:

Pfft. Easy problem to overcome. Purchase a set of these

Works two fold. 1) Blocks out background noise so you can focus on your game. 2) If you can't hear the screaming toddler/baby then it must mean they really don't need your attention.* ;)
* Ithikial is not to be blamed / held leaglly liable for any future calls that maybe made to Social Services. Ithikial is not a parent. Ithikial hates babies.

Pffft indeed. @Ithikial's bachelorhood blind spots are well demonstrated here.
Bose is overrated. Go with Grado Prestige series headphones - SR80e for USD$100 / SR60e for USD$70. They are comfortable and quite good, immersive but not noise cancelling. So you will hear and be able to respond to all sounds necessary for retaining domestic harmony.

Pfft. The set of Bose headphone I linked - I have a pair. Can hand on heart swear they cancel out most aircraft engine noise on a commercial airliner. Making the inflight entertainment more worthwhile! They can cope with crying baby from the other side of the house or the wife watching her reality TV show allowing for more CM time. :D

LOLs all. @Ithikial and @Meat Grinder , I actually did treat myself to a set of these last Xmas, and they worked an absolute treat for gaming in the loungeroom in the wee hours.

So well in fact, that I jumped out of my chair with fright when I noticed the wife glaring at me from the darkness of the hallway door way at midnight with the liddle 'un in her arms ( who was supposed to be fast asleep..). Removing the headset revealed the unnoticed noise levels (I was supposedly 'on-duty'...).

Suffice to say, I no longer use them for gaming, and have the tv volume down low, so I can detect shrieking from the munchkins' room and intercede before the wife awakens.....

Grado's are the answer, my friend. I've preempted such adversities myself using them . . . ;)
