Welcome to The Few Good Men

Thanks for visiting our club and having a look around, there is a lot to see. Why not consider becoming a member?

With all due respect to BFC....

I got CMBO in the same time frame MG. I have all of the CM 1st gen games and now have CMBN. I am assuming that CMBN is a CM2 engine because I see a lot of new features that CMBN has that CMAK did not have. Just for my own info since I have yet to play CMBN in any length of time, what is dated in the CM2 engine? Sorry for the newb questions but from what I remember the game engine was pretty good 18 years ago and I am looking forward to seeing what the CM2 engine has to offer.

The engine for all CMx2 Families (now the CMSF2 is released) is up to version 4.0. The original CMBN, and I believe CMFI, engines were version 1.0, CMRT was version 2.0, CMFB and CMBS were version 3.0, and CMSF2 is version 4.0 BFC subsequently sold upgrades to versions 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 for all of the Families. When playing an opponent, you need the same version. While it may seem costly to pay for an upgraded version, you get the new features of the newer version which can be pretty awesome.

I'm a little concerned that Battlefront will start over again with CM3. Similar to CM1 going to CM2. Next it could be CM3 and back to the beaches and hedgerows of Normandy? I like the potential that a new engine would bring but I'm not sure how I feel about going back to Normandy again. Maybe CM3 North Africa? That would be cool.

CM3 should be Virtual Reality

I'm actually not concerned at all about what they might do for a CMX3 engine. I expect I'll be long dead and buried by the time they release it.
