Been thinking about joining for some time but eventually got round to it. I have been playing CM for a while and have recently added CMFB to my list. Much improved and enjoying it. My expertise from my previous life is in Mortars/ Artillery. Its good to see that the designers have improved the uncertainty in where the rounds actually fall, as in real situations. I would be more than please to assist with any issues regarding fire control methods for Mortars/ Arty. Best regards for 2019.

Greetings, @Tinyb! Your membership deserves it's own post!
You should soon receive @Hedgehog's Welcome Wagon hand-outs! They make good reading.

When you are ready for H2H play, consider using CMHelper to manage your matches.
Then, post your first request for a match either here or at the forum for the game(s) you own.

Welcome to The Few Good Men. Good luck and good gaming! Have fun.

(By the way, my first US Army posting was as the platoon leader in the SP Mortar Platoon [4.2"] of a tank battalion. The FDC plotter happened to be a 13J embedded among all my 11C's.)
That was long ago, far away, and several smaller waist sizes though. Mortars rule!!

Badger73, I served in several locations most with Mortars (81mm). I would very much like to progress to playing online. It would be a whole new world for me but my son who is an online marvel will I am sure point me in the right direction. Once I am up for it I will let you know. Thanks again.

Welcome aboard to another HE chucker.
I prefer my HE from a tank barrel myself...nothing to carry and a free ride!

Hi, my unit in Norway, Note the 81mm muzzle flash, shame CM can't replicate it. Not the soft weapon lots of people believe it to be. If I recall the 81 on Max Charge and Max elevation will throw a bomb to 10200 feet.

Nice pic. Norway hmmmm. Ever see tank fire at night? Unfortunately my service was in M60A1 before digital cameras or smart phones hahaha
Welcome aboard again. What games do you play?

@Abbasid111 - Where and when did you break track and replace torsion bars?
I was fortunate enough to turn in our M60A1's for M60A1E1's before the M60A3 was officially adopted. Watching night gunnery through passive Night Vision devices was very cool.
But the truly astounding pyrotechnics belonged to the night gunnery shows put on by Cobra gunships running assaults with their 20mm chain guns at Oh-Dark-thirty.

Hi, mostly CM, Got the full set and just purchased CMFB. Online would be totally new to me but my son is pushing me in the right direction. Once I am all set up I will let people know. My son was a Challenger 2 driver and yes I have seen them fire at night, very impressive. I spent lots of time in the Arctic when I was serving.

Excellent, H2H play adds a whole other dimension to CM

AD; First Spear or Third Herd? I'm guessing you weren't with the 2nd or 11th ACR's. Dinasours were dead by then but Sabre Tooth Tigers and Mastadons still walked the earth back when. (More seriously, the GRD "Stazi" were still alive and well. I don't miss them at all.)
