Well I didn't preorder and I just saw that I cannot have IS-2 tanks because they are only for the guys who did. What a shame.

Well that is unfortunate. I suspect that will come out as a DLC at some point. I have not done any of the beta although I was entitled to, so it will be new to me, at least the General level and some of the new tactical refinements.

Hi,
I'm from Eugen Systems. I used to have an account here, but it was apparently removed (lack of attendance?).

Well I didn't preorder and I just saw that I cannot have IS-2 tanks because they are only for the guys who did. What a shame.
There are two IS-2 variants ingame: IS-2 obr. 1943 & IS-2 obr. 1944.
The former is available for anyone with the 29th Tank Corps, the latter was originally only used in the solo campaigns. But since we've delayed the game's release for almost two months, it gave us some time to add an extra division for each side (Soviet 3rd Guards Tank Corps & German 1. Skijäger-Divison) and give it to patient fans whom had preordered and had to wait an extra couple of months.
We used this opportunity to feature some models we had and weren't used in multiplayer, such as the German (captured) KV-2 or Soviet IS-2 obr. 1944.

If anyone has any other question, feel free to ask. :)

Thanks for the answer, MadMat!

Will you feature a game manual in the future?

Thanks for the link, I prefer a stand-alone manual, and as well as I actually didn't notice the in-game one. :D

Yeah, a post every 3 or 6 months ensures you stay on the active member rolls. I see Wargamer.com has a Steel Division 2 review. I will have to read it even though I pre-purchased the game. It took hours for it to install from Steam, which is very uncharacteristic of my connection. Maybe a large load on SD2 downloading last week?

Good luck with it and glad you are back aboard TFGM.

@HOA_KSOP , So how are you liking this game? I've been watching it on YouTube with other players battling it out and it sure it pretty. Seems very deep.

I have a number of PBEM’s and real life issues that all I have managed to do is get it installed.

I have way more games than time.

Hi, I' ve been wathching some videos of Steel Division 2 and it looks great.

However, I'm wondering about a little graphical detail that bugs me: when rocket launchers fire, there's a smoke trail following the rocket all the way to the target. In real life, the smoke trail is only visible for the very first part of the trajectory, then the missile is just in free flight. I find the smoke trail looks really cartoony in the game.

So yeah, I realise this is a small detail, but might you consider changing it to look more realistic? Would be nice if it matched the quality of the rest of the game's graphics.

Sorry, I missed that question ...

Unfortunately, due to engine limitation, it is either smoke all the way or no smoke at all. :(
