Battle Brothers -- bloody addictive game

@Rico Any advice if I do decide to pick a side and take part in this war?

If you pick a side you will alienate the other Noble Houses, which cuts out access to their towns & trade -- so never pick a side with too few towns/economic centres to support you -- often food/supplies get scarce and expensive (as they should during war time)

The noble missions war missions often involve multiple battle missions with little time to recover or heal -- sieges, joining their army with several escalating missions ... long raiding missions into enemy territory -- you need reserves of men, tools, equipment (spare shields, weapons & armour) -- the battles against noble armies can be brutal: they are usually very well equipped (if not necessarily very skilled) with armour, lots of pikemen, zweihander swordsmen, seargents at arms, always a bannerman and even heavy crossbows which can cramp your style somewhat. And they will come after you if you enter enemy territory or even if they run into you if they are raiding your friendly territory.

Get involved in a noble war at your peril -- although the loot in captured armour and weapons is pretty lucrative if you do win your battles :D

So, I just bought a Falcon! Not sure who to give it to, I chose Badger "the Wabbit" because what else has he got to do other than stay behind the front line fighters and swing his big polearm around (a task he should be well suited to, given his real life military experience)?

@Rico , any advice on using it?

I pretty much figured out the Falcon today. It's usage is akin to using a drone in CM Black Sea. Nice, aerial view of the battlefield. Don't ask me how the Falcon communicates this information to it's handler, and then the info gets distributed to everyone else in the party. Black Magic, probably!

On a lighter note....it's not all zombies, orcs, and war. :)

Yeah, the Falcon is basically a once-use aerial recce drone with psychic comms. :D .... very useful in checking out size and location of an unknown, hidden force.

Hmm... also did the "try and help the kid" bit and one of my top guys fell out of the tree or off a roof and broke his ankle and was out of action for quite a while... this game can go both ways.

Woohoo!

Oh, and this was enough for me to unlock the "attain a legendary weapon" (or something like that) achievement.

I gave it to Buckykatt, one of my front line fighters. Unfortunately, I failed to ever pick the "quick hands" perk for him, and he is now level 11 so he can't get any more perks. So, it takes him an entire round to switch from one handed axe and shield to this bad boy. I would just have him wield this all the time, but I'm afraid it will make him an arrow magnet.

Woohoo!

Nice Cloak!!

Looks like the DLC is scheduled for release November 29th and will be $10. You can continue your current campaigns after installing it, but won't be able to see all of the new content without starting a new campaign. I was really hoping to continue my current campaign, because I have leveled all my men up to at least level 11 and they have some nice gear. I wonder how much of the new content we will be able to see without a restart?
