Those of you who live in the UK may know of the BBC programme The Antiques Roadshow, on which members of the public bring along items of interest for experts to value.
Occasionally I watch this, and on tonights episode a lady took along a gold medal awarded to officers who took part in the rout of one of Napoleon's armies in Italy, at the Battle of Maida.

This was one of only thirteen ever made to commemorate this victory, and the expert commented that in 50 yrs in his field of work, it was only the 3rd he had ever seen.
His valuation was £50,000 , and I can well believe that due to it's rarity.
