Book Description

Publication Date: January 20, 2012
In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Some day soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission: SUBVENIRE REFECTUS.

TO RESCUE AND REBUILD.

With over 10,000 copies sold, The Remaining is the first book in a gritty tale of survival, perseverance and fighting to get back what has been lost. Look for the sequel, "The Remaining: Aftermath" available on Amazon now.

I agree wholeheartedly. I just finished the third book last week and it is tense. Would it make a great series-I would say yes. No slow walking mindless zombies in this one. I was left at the end of it a little numb-like, "what do you mean the fourth installment hasn't been written, yet?"

I have to recommend another apocalyptic serial called "Wool". No zombies, but a clever story with plenty of anxiety for the reader.

Looks like five books total? From the authors Facebook page.

The Remaining

March 1
Alright, folks: I'm taking a quick break from writing to give my wonderful readers two pieces of important news...

First (I know a lot of you have been asking), let's talk about a release date. I'm roughly halfway through Book 4, and I feel comfortable saying that I'm shooting for a June release date. When in June will depend on a number of other factors, so I will hold out on making that announc...ement just yet!

Second, and I feel most importantly, let's talk about the series itself. I've explained in the past that it has been difficult for me to say how many books there will be in the series, because, though I know where I'm going, I don't necessarily plan out the route I take to get there. However, at this point in the story, I feel confident that I am close enough to my destination to say that there will be a total of five books in The Remaining series. I look forward to reaching the conclusion of this adventure with all of you!

I've got several other things cooking as well, so I hope to have more news for you in the near future.

Do yourself a favour ... read the original "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson ... pretty short, more a novella than a full novel -- very intense and very different to the movie 9actually explains significance of the title)... (also keep in mind it was written back in 1965 and is one of the original books of the "last man on earth" genre.

Robert Neville is the last living man on Earth...but he is not alone. Every other man, woman, and child on Earth has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood.

By day, he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilization. By night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for dawn.

How long can one man survive in a world of vampires?

Half way through and to be honest not a lot has happened. A couple of little skirmishes but nothing that pushes the story on.
Patience, my young padawan. Remember there are three books in the series. Looks like you are right around Chapter 9. The story is basically at its beginning and Lee has yet to find any Remaining. It will get interesting pretty soon. I am around 50% through book three and thought the story is pretty intriguing. Some nights I have trouble putting the Kindle down. Hopefully it suits your taste as you get further in.
