Saw him back in the 80's performing life in a footballstadium. I remember the audience come to live only at the end of the concert during the encore when he played the old stuff like Heroes etc. Newer music of his "Glass Spider Tour" wasn't much appreciated.
I think that's the way of it for well established performers/bands who have had dozens of hits over the years. No one pays good money to go to a concert to hear their new stuff, they want the old hits.
