Dear Gentlemen,

with the start of the coming year FFT goes into the second round. It will follow the classical style of mirror battling as You know from the first round in the current year. We will again choose a monthly winner after every battle and from the pool of monthly winners the overall winner has to been chosen. The scenarios are small so far as possible as is the turn number. One or two exceptions will there be - for example DUBNO 1941 what was the second tallest armor battle in WWII. The current scenarios are as follows:

POLAND 1939 - Task Scenario (special rules)
NORWAY 1940 - Blitzkrieg Scenario (special rules)
DUBNO 1941 - Tank Battle
SICILY 1943 - Landing Scenario
FINLAND 1944 - Transit Scenario
REMAGEN 1945 - River Crossing Scenario

Maybe slight changings have to be done yet. But I think all in all they are playable.

Some short explanations:
Task Scenario = You have to fulfil a task. In the given scenario that means if You don´t fulfil the task You lose by Total defeat even if the result tables show a different result - maybe even a Total Victory.

Blitzkrieg Scenario = You have to be swift in Your actions to gain the victory. In this case similar to the Task Scenario because You have to take a small port. Not conquering it means Total Defeat.

Landing Scenario = In this case You have to overcome a relatively open beach, destroy heavy bunkers and get access to the town on the cliffs.

Transit Scenario = You have to fight free the way for a unit or units who has to leave the map.

I think Tank Battle and River Crossing scenario are self-explanatory.

NOTE: Both, CMBB and CMAK, are needed for that tournament!

GENERAL RULES

The main rule is the Tourney Master is always right! His word is law.

1.) Monthly Battles: All battle are fought monthly. If not mentioned different before the battles start You have one month to finish Your battles. If not the result is forced by the TM. To make that possible all files of the ongoing and just finished battles have to be stored and send over to the TM until You get the OK of the TM to delete them from Your harddrive. Not following that rule let the TM only one way to act - You lose by Total Defeat. More as two times to be punished that way You will drop out of the tournament automatically.

2.) Kind of Battles: All battles are mirror battles - means both opponents have to play the same battle from both sides to the same time.

3.) Battle Results: So long as not especially mentioned otherwise before a battle the results shown on the result tables of CM are what counts. For the scenarios with special rules it is the same so long as the tasks are fulfilled. If the tasks aren´t fulfilled it is of no interest what the CM result tables show - it can only be a Total Defeat.

4.) Time Frame for Turns: You have to start Your battles within 3 days after the TM sent out the setup files. As soon as You have sent Your setup to Your opponent You have to post a verification here in the concerning thread! Further You have to finish Your battles to the set deadline. That will always be given short before the next battles start. Not following that rules is immediately punished with cancelling the battles. Your opponent will get a replacement player to finish the battles. If no replacement is available he will play against me instead but with open cards for that battle.

5.) Monthly Winner: Every month a monthly winner is claimed by the best result. If there are two results with the absolutely same score the both players have to play a decision match against each other. However that may not influence their common FFT battles. The common FFT battles have always priority to decision matches. Nevertheless decision matches should be done during one month as well. After all scenarios are played an overall winner is chosen by the highest total points number.

6.) Opponents: The players who have to play against each other will be diced/drawn randomly by the TM before every new scenario. Before You can play again that very opponent You have to play all other participants of FFTv2 first - at least if the FFT don´t end before that happens.

7.) Points System: For each result You will given points. That means both Your results will calculated together and the result of the points counts for the table. The points will be given as following:

Given Points for:
Total Victory = (4)
Major victory = (3)
Tactical Victory = (2)
Minor Victory = (1)

Draw = 0

Minor Defeat = (-1)
Tactical Defeat = (-2)
Major Defeat = (-3)
Total Defeat = (-4)

8.) Passwords: Each player gets a password provided by the TM. The same password is set by the TM in every new battle. Make sure You don´t publish it by accident.

Greetings :)

POLAND 1939 (CMBB, 400m x 400m, Dawn, 15 Turns, September 1939 (shown as 1941), damp, Fog, cool, german Attack)

The polish army has delivered some heavy weapons to the border troops. They are hidden in a clearing near the border crossing to Germany. OKW got information about that action and uses a just started attack to destroy them by surprise. For that task proved veterans of the Spanish Civil War are chosen. The polish border troops should be no match for them. To be swift a tank force is rushing to fulfil the task. Other formations follow to execute the actual attack on the border posts. The Poles are already cut from almost all reinforcements since the Wehrmacht is attacking all border guards to the same time. The guards fight on their own.

Battle Restrictions: It isn´t allowed to move the fixed guns before they for themself spot the first tank! That should show the surprise factor.

Special Rules: The Wehrmacht has to fulfil the task by all means! Otherwise it doesn´t matter by what result You may win. Then You have lost by Total Defeat.

NORWAY 1940 (CMAK, 400m x 400m, Midday, 15 Turns, shown as December 1943, light Snow, Snow, cold, german Assault)

German paratroopers and mountaineers prepare an onslaught on a small naval port at Norway. Norwegian army and resistance try to hinder that. Their advantage is the relatively protected position of the defensive parameter. The disadvantage is the lack of a greater amount of heavy weapon systems. Only two bunkers, one an outdated gun emplacement the other only fitted with HMGs, are appreciable in this context. At least a radio message for help was sent and norwegian command promised to send what is available.

Battle Restrictions: Both bunkers may not be manipulated in no way before the first turn starts.

Special Rules: The german troops have to gain access to the naval port by all means. Failing that means Total Defeat no matter what the CM result tables may show.

DUBNO 1941 (CMBB, 2000m x 2000m, Midday, 30 Turns, June 1941, dry, clear, hot, Meeting Engagement)

The swift advance of the Wehrmacht finds its result in a chaos on russian side. So the second largest tank battle of all times starts that way. On russian side may lay the mass advantage strengthened by some single T-34 and KV-I. But most of the tanks are outdated already and the tank mix isn´t really made for armor vs armor. The Wehrmacht can hark back to almost all what german technology provides. But they lack the number of units. So quantity meets quality.

SICILY 1943 (CMAK, 480m x 480m, Midday, 30 Turns, July 1943, very dry, clear, hot, allied Assault)

Allied landing on a beach of Sicily. Cover is sparse until one reaches the first trees. Casualties aren´t to avoid. Nevertheless swift advance is essential for that battle. Luckily the axis defenders weren´t prepared for the quick landing. So the Allies have only to face two 88mm bunkers during the first round. But no doubt the axis reinforcements are already on the way. The italian forces may be not as strong as the german ones but one shouldn´t understimate their will to defend their homeland. But are they aware there is not only that single road to gain access of the cliffs? Resistance told the Allies some hidden secret paths lead to one of the bunkers.

Battle Restrictions: The bunkers may not be turned!!!

FINLAND 1944 (CMBB, 480m x 480m, Dusk, 30 Turns, August 1944, dry, clear, warm, Meeting Engagement)

The Finns still fight for survive of their country. Since OKW sees it as a direct threat for Germany as well some supporting units were sent to help the Finns out. On the other side the Russians send masses of their infantry and tanks.
Both sides have to send their troops over the one and only passable bridge of that area. And both sides have already first troops near it. Now the opponents have to find a way to get their heavy units/tanks through the enemy lines and leave the map.

REMAGEN 1945 (CMAK, 400m x 400m, midday, 15 turns, March 1945, dump, clear, warm, Allied Attack)

The scenario is roughly based on the movie "The Bridge of Remagen" what is in reality the Ludendorff Bridge.
It´s another bridge crossing scenario but this time the attackers have no arty or mortar support. The situation changed flowingly from "drive the Germans about that bridge" to "take the bridge by all means". So nothing is prepared on allied side. That counts for the Germans as well. But here it is the desperate supply situation. Even the commander isn´t on site. He is away trying to get the strongly needed and promised tanks.

Note: The Allies have to move their units relatively swift to make room for the reinforcements on most of the entry points.
