.......this chap could handle an airplane:
Among many other notable feats, he was a WW2 fighter pilot who was shot down and spent 16 months in a German POW camp - before escaping, stealing a German fighter plane, and flying to freedom. He was also in a chase plane behind Chuck Yeager when Yeager first broke the sound barrier. Much more, too much to mention here.
