Hello all,

Glad to have found somewhere where it appears many share the same love for CM and related topics.

I look forward to playing many games with you all (currently looking for CMRT opponents until I choose the next game I'll buy). Any recommendations as to whether to wait for the Bulge or get CMFI and GL expansion straight away much appreciated!

I have played the CMFI demo to death. I do like the terrain, which is a nice challenge and change from the rather flat Russian Steppe.

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H)
- as you already know. ;)

For to get involved into the PBEM H2H gaming action, please go to the gaming section and choose the category with
the game that you'd like to play (CMBS or CMBN etc.). There you'll find the postings for gaming requests
(just scroll down a little). And there you may also start your own, of course. ;)

Welcome aboard, @Gurkha! I am a big fan of CMFI/GL. It is out now and due to be patched to current levels after the reportedly final module is released some time next year. Of course, it covers a very different theater than CMFB.
 
Welcome @Gurkha, I also have a soft spot for CMFI. Its mix of mid-war equipment and Italian units probably make it less similar to CMBN than Bulge will be. The CMFI module also has snow, and plenty of community made maps and mods, which will take time for Bulge to build up. So all-in-all, FI would just edge it for me, although don't wait too long before purchasing Bulge!

Got to ask, are you/were you a Gurkha?

@Odin Actually I was a mere RAF Radar Engineer (seconded into a QRF force in Afghan, which gave me more than my fill of some quite nasty action first hand mind you).

My Uncle was a Brigadier in the Queens Gurkha Rifles and served in Ulster, Falklands and Gulf War 1. Quite a military family as my Grandfather was a Royal Marine Commando dropped off at Sword Beach on D-Day in the first wave.

I'm convinced with CMFI - I'll let her indoors know subtly...

---- though you have to look out for some of the members, they're a bit ...strange you see. ;)
