This is currently on sale at Steam. I downloaded and installed the HD mod and 1.05 update. Pleasantly surprised. I don't fight the battles on the tactical scale as its rather dated, but other than that its sorta like a EU3/4 like game that is quite fun and entertaining.
I've been waiting for the new Knights of Honor 2, but that been promised for years and is still in development. Maybe we'll see in 2022 or will have to wait for 2023.
