Short Message to Commander SPHINX: OK-SS has sent all what was possible to start a counter attack in Your sector. A bandit of the so called resistance was caught and is questioned currently. Await new info asap! Two paradrops are granted by the Luftwaffe. You have only to mention where You want them to land. But hold in mind there is no guarantee the jumpers will land exactly where You want - they could be driven away by wind or enemy fighters encounter them before the landing etc.! The markers on Your map for the paradrops are suggestions but haven´t to be used on this places. Further the SS troops are of the fresh established SS-Div. Charlemagne. They haven´t the "veteran" standard of the Waffen-SS yet. Nevertheless their morale is high and the drill was good. A few Tigers are with them. One of their inf platoons was sent as support into Your town. Two artillery observers (not fixed but sitting in the HTs as well) are with them. And last but not least ground fighter planes are on the way. That all should be a nice surprise for the Allies.

Bad news yet - Support-HQ (P) and Your Späher-1 are trapped on the island. They have no chance to get away. Try to lay curtain fire on the ford between island and mainland so no enemy unit make it over to them! And hold in mind the Allies are always well equipped. Maybe they have artillery support or even boats to gain access of the island.

Dear STOFFEL!

Yes, You had 2 tattered troops there without radio contact! That is right. I´ll not discuss any further what who retreated where - not because I want to do You something bad - but because that would be intel. And one of MBCs differences from common gaming CMx1 is that You never know before what is going on on Your opponents side. Further, as You can see by Yourself, not one troop of You made it on the isle. Even on Your posted picture it is to see there is a german troop on it. And even it would be only a single man that means it is not in Your custody/possession. Otherwise if You had there an unit who could take on the enemy unit it would be vice versa, maybe. Depends on some factors.
For example: Your opponent has a sniper on that isle. You was able to get a tank there. Then it would be Yours. Or: Enemy has a full platoon there and You got a squad there without radio contact. Then it would be of interest if Your men are pinned or shaken or combat ready. In best case You would get a part of that isle. Last example: There is no one on the isle except a broken troop of You. The isle would be Yours because absolutely no one would hinder them to recreate. But note - That are only guiding principles! There is more to calculate as that. That would lead too far to explain every single action I have to do. You can be sure I prefer nobody of the MBC participants.
As I meantioned earlier - So long as no attacker comes along the terrain of the defender goes not automatically to the attacker controled terrain. Terrain of the defender keeps in his custody even if he has no troops there so long no attacker comes along. Open space, as for example the parts of the beach You claim, are always difficult to calculate for what is whom. We had that discussion already in the beginning of the MBC. I do it as I think it right. And sometimes it will be to Your likeness and sometimes it will be not.

Please, don´t forget they have to jump in relatively open space. A jump into woods would kill them before the fighting. The terrain may not be more as scattered trees. Uneven is OK but can lead to losing troops partly. That is diced by me. Currently I would, following Your wish so far as possible, set the landing zones in the fields behind Monte Orso and on the uneven slope/top of Monte Verde what is facing the Peninsula Tempesta. If that is OK for You I set it asap.

Short Message for Cmdr. SPHINX: You are in luck! Due to the streaming in troops and some casualties done by RAF and USAF fighters HQ was able to strengthen Your Hermann-Göring-PzGrenadier Company to 2/3 of its full strength. That means You got some men and squads for free. Make sure Your officers survive this last battle at Sicily! Their experiences are needed on the continent. Fallschirmjäger are on their way as commanded. Intel tells there are hasty actions all over the beaches. Seems the Allies have smelled there would be a counter attack of us. Be aware of allied reinforcements who infiltrate Your sector!

Short Message for Cmdr. STOFFEL: US-HQ has some good news for you! They were able to redirect some of their troops so they should already be in Your sector. The redirected (now attached to QRF) forces hit a bogged down heavy ATG of us on their way to You. The HT wasn´t to use anymore but the ATG is now with the QRF. Looks not so bad anymore. Nevertheless be careful. The enemy is powerful by now and our air forces can´t help You as one is used to it. Only one of our Hurricanes is in Your sector and available.

Short Message to all Commanders: Horrible news! Your comrade, Cmdr. OWL, was captured by the enemy after surrendering! HQ suggests You pay him free. To initiate that HQ has already gotten conatct with OKW. Answer is still waited for.

Short Message to all Commanders: Comrade GRIEVOUS was able to capture his opponent! Cmdr. OWL is currently POW of the German Reich. All his troops were captured as well. This makes Commader GRIEVOUS to the new most succesful officer. He gained at least about 7223 prestige for this battle. More info will follow.

After OP2B4 I will overwork the MBC slightly. That will probably need a bit of time. But it will definitely continue. So no fear - You haven´t to start from scratch with a MBCv3! By the way - What would You think if we switch to CMBB for MBCv3 if that starts sometime? For the capturing system of MBC it would be much more interesting. Same counts for the tank battle fun. And one could start in an earlier time of war. Etc., etc.

I thought (after reading the news) the Germans would come through the town, or the forest on the hill.
But they showed up in the wheat field in the middle of my rear area and in the bend of the road on an almost impossible spot...................
Luckily I replaced the BN HQ and I had the 3 Bren AAA teams there, otherwise I would have been toast by now.

Interesting situation now though.
My reinforcements can handle the Germans in the rear I think.
So I can move forward with the brits in the town.
He cant have that much troops there judging whats in my rear.

Turn 3)
There are two tanks on the hill in Costa Brava firing smoke.
I think at least two companies of infantry in my rear, they will soon be surrounded.
UK infantry moving forward leapfrogging with platoons.
Only problem I have is that darn AT bunker on the island :(
Cant move my armor over the road.
Turn 5)
Another enemy platoon with tanks.....lost 3 halftracks and a jeep to airattacks, fortunately it didnt go for the M10's.... my hurricane sucked with its rocket.
Near Costa Brava infantrycontact.
Turn 8, More troops enter the map, two more Tigers. German airattacks and more infantry than I expected, gonna be hard to survive let alone advance.
Turn 9,more German aircraft. Lost a Churchill....half of my infantry on the hill is dead. The Germans may have more than 4 companies. Overwhelming force with lots of tigers.
AT pillboxes provide cover, no room to outflank the tigers. My refinforcements are useless since they cant pass the road along the AT bunker. Plane missed tanks but hit my 17pdr.....
Turn 11, Useless situation. Near Costa brava I lost both platoons recon to regular inf. Elite and crack suqds.
Same on Mount orso, every platoon is outgunned with 3 to 1,no matter where I go. Germans also have artillery raining on my guys. US troops on the mountain are almost destroyed by a singel platoon regular inf, an entire company......our infantry simply lacks firepower. The tanks are useless to, German tigers dominate the roads, no space to outflank them. Not even a military genius could win in this situation. Its to one sided now.
Turn 13, lost an M10. Two platoons engineers another platoon crack recon infantry....all routes for my troops are blocked. Artillery is pounding what I have left. I have to sustain heavy losses, to heavy. There is no fun of going on. I am considering to give up.

SEEL, if You get the 100 points of IDIOT94 You will have 340 points if You convert all Your prestige into points. That is still less then the 355 points for Your original request.

Oh, only 100pts? hmm... didn't I capture something from him last round? Or can't Seel use some of the captured units in the pool? (and sell them and convert them into the points he need) ?

Yep, You already had spent Your points last battle to STOFFEL! And the 100 new points are from Your latest victory. Captured Units aren´t available currently. And if so he couldn´t sell them. Only units what can´t taken over (because of the restrictions of CMAK) as for example StuGs are sold if captured.

Very well spoken, Xuebo! I try to write some more explanations for MBC if I have time therefor. For example about bonus skills of officers, rescue rather officers then soldiers (sounds very evil to me), retreat etc. I can´t promise that/anything but maybe I can do a greater amount on weekend already.

Didn´t I send a recon map first? There You can see all Your reinforcements, their time frame of arriving and entry points (didn´t we had this topic already). If I would use landmarker Your opponent as well would know there Your reinforcements will arrive - or at least he would assume something to happen there if it isn´t meant for him. Paratroopers are an exception actually. Because of weather conditions it could become very unpredictable where and when they land. But even for them the markers are set in the recce map. So You should know what comes when and where.
There is a further problem I can´t hinder to happen: Sometimes the AI set the reinforcements on silly places - mostly if the actually landing area is manned with other forces - no matter if own or enemy. And to let arrive reinforcements from the sea is very tricky if a road is near by. Almost always the AI sets the reinforcements on the road - even though one set them in the water or on the edge of the coast.

I am about to be totally destroyed in my battle, I face at least a dozen tanks escorted by large numbers of infantry and heavy gun support, hard to believe after destroying close to a dozen tanks in the last battle the Germans easily replaced all of their loses. I should be brushed aside within a few turns.

Only as an info: I started calculating the last battles of OP2. I have to do that anew because I changed my tables and the modus operandi a bit. Nothing You will notice in Your battles. It´s only to make it a bit easier for me. The next map is the FRANCE map. A picture is posted in short so You can gain an impression what is waiting for You. Pairs will be diced asap and posted.
If I shouldn´t accomplish that this weekend I can continue not before the next weekend. I think end of the next weekend is a good estimate. But I don´t want promise too much. It are only guidelines.

@Owl: You had no observer. Off map artillery is only scenario bounded possible and is set by the CM/TM. Further it will give no tank platoons anymore as actually was already intended from start on. Reason: It is much more easier to replace a lost tank as an entire platoon everytime only because the leader was killed etc.

Concerning Point-Prestige-System: Points are money. You can buy all what You want if You have the necessary money and if the time frame is OK - for example: You can´t buy a Tiger in 1939. Prestige is fame and will give You unexpected advantages sometimes.

As mentioned earlier no tanks and/or vehicle platoons anymore!!! You can´t let taken over the command if the leader is killed - only to mention another reason why.

And please use the format I posted earlier in the General Announcements so no unnecessary mistakes appear!
