Hey folks, I have just joined your group. This is the first internet forum I have ever been in. I am in the Australian Army, and am an avid player of most of the combat mission titles. I think I am ready to start email games, along the lines of the excellent Usually Hapless series. Remember that I am a complete newbie to this side of things. I have Shock Force, Red Thunder, Black Sea, and Normandy. Please feel free to point me in the right direction for setting this up, and even such things as online etiquette are a new thing for me. Just call me GT or whatever. Cheers from downunder.

Welcome, @Grunter! You should soon receive @Hedgehog's Welcome Wagon hand-outs! They make good reading.

Whey you are ready for H2H play, consider using CMHelper to manage your matches.

Set up a personal account at Dropbox.
Then, post your first request for a match either here or at the forum for the game(s) you own.

My only worthwhile advice on etiquette came to me from my late father. "Never assume malice where ignorance or incompetence might suffice." Avoid religion and politics (mostly) on the forums. Don't make me drink Fosters and track down FGM staffer @Ithikial when you want to talk to a member in your own time zone. There's a number of Aussies in this bunch. You enjoy good company.

Welcome to The Few Good Men. Good luck and good gaming! Have fun.

Welcome to the friendliest forum on the net - Good choice.

Feel free to wander around, kick the tyres, lounge in the seats and pop the bonnet; no-one will mind. Dumb questions aren't dumb here (Zinzan's already asked stupider ones :p )

Hello Grunter, welcome to THE FEW GOOD MEN! :)
Good to have you with us!

Thanks for all of your kind greetings, all.
A special hello to ithikial, whom I have watched play many, many games, and asked once, by email, as to what custom dashboard he was using for CMRT. It is also to nice to hear a familiar Aussie accent on the AARS.
I have been very busy at work. I am in Townsville, North Queensland. It is no surprise, and no operational secret, that this is the largest Army barracks in this neck of the woods. I will probably be a bit slow in setting up some email games, but once I get the dropbox, and stuff up and running, I should be able to play a couple of different matches at a rate of 5 plays a week each.
I am no spring chicken either, at 56.
I dont have CMFB or CMFI. I have seen excellent video of these, and would imagine that you would endorse these as great games to get.
My wife often complains that I spend far too much time "saving the world", and it is probably the fact, that I would spend too much time getting through the campaigns and battles, that has stopped me from buying these as well.
Anyway.......dinner awaits,
Remind me to find some cool Quote to sign off with.
I am such a dick. Cheers, Grunter
