This is new eh...where do I get it...seems like you guys like it??

Breif me in the good bad and the ugly please.

Rico put it very eloquently: Go there, grab the demo and see what you can make of it. :biggrin1:

Its very similar to CMSF in terms of engine (of course, they said as much) but I've run a tutorial and a portion of a campaign with no noticeable bugs.

Graphics are very nice.

Artillery rules very straightforward and easy to use.

Use of armor the same, pretty easy to get the hang of it.

However, I find infantry to be quite different and I will have to learn how to use them. I keep getting them slaughtered. Some neat aspects such as a close in look will give you the infantry disembarking the HT out the back door, mortar crews loading the rounds, machineguns crews setting up, etc.

Terrain vivid and nice looking, have to figure out what vehicle can push through what shubbery or bocage or fence.

You have to pay attention to resupply of ammo, a nice feature, normally by mounting an HT or truck and acquiring ammo by type.

Haven't tried pbem yet so not sure how cumbersome that is, probably not really.

I suspect that this game and its sequels may replace CMx1 (BO, BB, AK) at some point.

Yes BFront are on a winner, let's hope they keep turning out expansions to carry it beyond Normandy into Germany, France 1940, North Africa, Italy, Russia, Pacific etc.
I'm still running tests to find out what can cross what terrain, and Booties still putting together a neat CMBN forum section.
Regarding ammo re-supply, i've seen small Ammo-bearing teams carrying extra ammo for mortars, MG's and AT guns.

And a few days ago, POS explained us that CMBN wasn't worth playing, because it was only Normandy with bocage fighting, you couldn't have enlarged units, you couldn't see who was firing at you, etc... and that Panzer Command : Ostfront was the future of wargaming ! So it must be mighty good to make such a sudden change ! ( cannot say myself, didn't buy any yet, it's too early ! I wait for the patches and mods.)

Ok folks I take it that this is real new ....only been out in the past few months or weeks....I have to go the check it out soon. Still want to play the old Cm with anyone willing to get whooped by a rusty old fart like me.;)

I think I've never had the honour. You can send me a set-up !

And my hard copy in the decorative tin was in the mailbox today. I will be reading the manual with the same gusto as the Sharpe series.
