RAF Montrose was a Royal Air Force (RAF) station in Forfarshire (now more commonly called Angus) in Scotland. On 26 February 1913, it became the first operational military aerodrome to be established in the United Kingdom.

In 1983 the Montrose Air Station Heritage Trust was formed, today known as the Ian McIntosh Memorial Trust. In 1992 the trust purchased the Watch Office and ground, and created the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre.[3] They have since added more buildings and collections. Several historic buildings and hangars are still located on site, and the perimeter taxi track is still largely intact.

This is a short video of a visit my family and I made on 6th August 2016.

Despite being smallish in size and tucked out of the way the whole family enjoyed it and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.
