Question of the Day regarding WW2 defensive lines.

Was there a Maginot Line Campaign? No. Case closed. :)

Siegfried Line helped (but granted not exclusively) stopped the American armies dead in their tracks through to early '45 in places. It was never going to be impenetrable but it did it's job.
 
Hmmmm Maginot Line did force Axis to come around the side; if the French had had "real" confidence in their plans they wouldn't have tied so many troops up manning the line to max levels. They COULD have used rem,aining troops as a rapid rweaction force to smash into side of any attack going for a right hook - but Nooooo they became so invested in the Maginot line that they HAD to put most resources into defending it.

So short version is that if it hadn't become such a political priority it would have worked better. e.g. If they had viewed it from Axis viewpoint they would have p[robably planned to defend in depth on the left flank and planned better with Belgium and GB to respond to likely German attack.
