Hello fellow combatants. Just joined what looks to be quite a congenial group. Been addicted to Combat Mission since prior to 2003, giving up any interest in Starcraft, Doom, Countestrike, Need for Speed etc. once the addiction came on. After a short stint playing with the Band of Brothers when they first formed (nickname was Bud), I settled into about 15 years of playing combat mission with a close personal friend. Many QB’s with the odd year off now and then to recover. I have recently retied from corporate life and have time now for even more combat mission.

As a side note, I live close to the East Gate of Yellowstone Park, in Cody, Wyoming. I am an avid horseback rider and pack tripper and one of the great pleasures I enjoy is taking friends, family and guests out adventure riding in the mountains. Would love to take any like minded folks from this group out for a ride if you happen to find yourself out this way. I must admit that I mentally play quick battles on the local terrain while I am out and about by horse.

At the present time I only have Red Thunder (engine 4) installed and look forward to my first battle here. After exclusively playing against my friend, very interested how I would do with anyone else, hoping to make it competitive and fun. Don’t feel that I’m particularly skilled at all but nothing upon which to base that feeling actually.

Again, glad to be here and if anyone wants a go at it let me know. I do have CM helper just installed but have not used it yet, and am a drop box user, Send an email to budalso3 at aol dot com or a message here.

Regards
Cowboy Bud

Thanks All, think I'm gonna love it.

opened thread in CM2 for matches.

Hubba-Hubba we have a newbie heading in the gate and he sounds NEAT!!!!!!!!!!!

@Cowboy (Don't get too worried yet, let him sniff around, he'll stop jumping up and calm down soon)

Sounds like you live in a cool location, Lucky, lucky you - have a good wander. Talk to the inmates, pick a couple of fights and settle in, this is a very nice care home. Most of the staff are cool and abuse is as common as you want :)

Welcome aboard, @Cowboy . We all love westerns here, I guarantee ya that. I was also a member of WeBoB. My "handle" there was Captain Awesome (yea....I know). Anyhoo, playing the same opponent over and over can kinda get you in a rut. You learn each other's "ways" is all, if you get my "meanin".

I think ya done the right thing landin here. ;-)

hey Meat Grinder...wow, old classic. Pretty much everyone I meet in the back country is armed, but for grizzlies i think. Got my dance card filled already with four going. Two from this group and a fella i bumped to over at BoB before coming here, and my long time friend. For sure i can see that everyone has their own style and its hard to adjust to quickly. Must have spend 3-4 hrs already today on turns and setups. Good thing my wife is away for a week hahahha
