Easy in this game is still brutal once you get to level 3 and 4.

Yea, I see what you mean. I'm switching to "Easy".

I'm at 4 fails at the forbidden forest I think the last level 4 map.
The monsters released at turn 74 are the toughest I have seen so far

I put this game on the back burner (and almost rage deleted it) after I spent something like two hours on a mission and lost because I was about 5 shy on having enough colonists. If there is one thing I hate about this game it's the constant building of housing units for colonists.

I just build enough housing for a good army and tech/defense. So usually I’m only at about 50% when the final wave arrives. If you survive the final wave delete wasp guns, tower guns and even walls and you can “people up” after the danger is over. And there are less new zombies when stuff is overrun

The level that almost broke me was where you had to have a population number AND a 8k gold production per turn.
