Updating today's data
146 new cases, total 966
Dead rose to 24 in total.

(The good thing about today:
I was finally able to mow the lawn.
I pulled the car out of the garage onto the street and then re-entered it.):cautious:

Australia's rate of new infections is declining however there's a big caveat with our numbers. They are still focused pretty heavily on returned travellers and those in contact with a confirmed case. As the number of overseas arrivals dries up, the number of reported cases does as well. Moving towards more community testing where there isn't any confirmed links may see our numbers jump again as hidden cases become exposed.

Our State's Health Minister was optimistic but still cautious, in his daily update when he announced we only had 9 new cases. He stated we were still "...sailing into this storm, not out of it." (I guess early action determines if the storm/peak cases is a rainy day or a cyclone).

In Germany we now have 67000 positiv tested persons and 645 deaths. The country has been under lockdown for sometime and will be for another weeks. The lockdown is not as extensive as in France or Italy. For example you are here still allowed to leave the house for a walk, but not more then 2 people are allowed to meet if they are not close family
If you are going for a walk you are not allowed to take a break on a park bench.
Most businesses had to close. Open are staying only groceries, pharmacies, petrol stations, bakeries and construction markets.
There are increasing concerns about the economic consequences and a devastating recession.
The State Finance Minister of Germany‘s Hesse State Mr. Thomas Schäfer has committed suicide, because of the economic fallout from the coronavirus. He was a respected politician.

WOW, hardly his fault. The world's economy has taken a hit. I hope some Irish politicians fall on their sword.

Looks like the U.S. is going to get another month of the same.

At least another month. It appears our larger cities are having a tough time in keeping the 6 feet between each other and staying in their homes. Until there is this understanding, the 2 week self quarantining will continue to be needed and the spreading can continue. I see mid-June being the earliest time that social distancing may go away.

We have one guy reporting back in after his two week quarantine just as another left because he came down with a really bad fever over the weekend.

We have for the most part switched over to emergency calls only. This was/still is an almost daily battle with the Office over what is actually an emergency. Different perspectives on things between the office staff who is "working" from home and the guys in the field. Our general manager has been locked in the office building for the last two weeks and will only talk to us peons over the phone or through a window that is just barely opened. In my entire life I have never seen such an absolute lack of leadership. It is also the first time I've ever looked at a person the way I would look at a small scared animal.

Sorry Gents, got a little frustrated and sounded off a bit.
