Went shopping this morning with the little lady. We decided to take a back road to see the scenery and I thought I would share it. Even though a lot of snow is work, it is beautiful after it settles into a winter wonder land.
Stopped to take a picture of the road we traveled down and a side view of the woods.

We stopped also along Lake Muskoka to take some lake pictures and not even 5 feet from the car was a Palliated Woodpecker that had been working on a tree that morning, he must of been there a while the groove he made was almost 6 feet long and half way through the tree. He was moving fast and all we had was a phone with a camera.

The lake was frozen but not all the way across...one can see a fog out there that is where the water is still open. Note the resort in the picture. It is Taboo Golf Coarse, one can google it if you wish.

Then we went into Gravenhurst to the docks where there are 2 steam ships run by coal fire.

We will be having a dinner cruse on this in the New Year when things warm up with my cousin from Montreal.

Here is another resort, a boat museum, and Boston Pizza( the only one in North America built on water.

Just a big rock LOL

Nice pics. Reminds me a on the winter and Christmas time in my youth. There we had often similar views - even if there wasn´t such masses of snow. And the Woodpecker is a little beauty. But I can´t imagine, even with the most effort, what he could want to break in that monster smithy. Do You have a clue why the smithy is so big? Probably it´s no smithy? But what is it then?

Greetings :)

you can have it I think I will go out and make snow angels. ;)
