Balanced QB's for laddergames; do's and dont's

I'm buying forces for a yuuuuuuge totally ladderworhy qb on a yuuuuuuge hilly but open map and it makes most sense to put all my points in heavy armour which makes for a very specific kind of gameplay only...

How would one go about avoiding this?
 
Simple. Discuss "house rules" with your opponent prior to starting. A commonly used rule is the 33% armor rule, which simply means that no more than 33% of points can be spent on armor. If you want the armor selections to be more "historically realistic" you can discuss limitations on certain armor types (Tigers or whatever).

Work it all out before you start.
 
100% as everyone has said:

1/. Discuss what ground rules will be in play 4 with your opponent first
2/. Agree as to ladder or non-ladder

Potential ground rules discussion:
  • Armour percentage and type limitations
  • Arty limitations
  • Air power limitations (note weather /time of day can naturally limit this....)
If you bring heavy armour, and your opponent brings air, it may not be the battle type you think it will be! ;) @Meat Grinder taught me that rather painfully...
