Screen grabs from the first twenty minutes of play. It is a single player game. I decided against H2H as there is nothing much for the German side to do. The little that can be done is covered by a variety of AI 'responses' built into the scenario.
Screen 1: The many fortification icons in the first screen grab are really TRPs used to accurately recreated the historical linear sequential barrage pattern.
Screen 2: The Canadians approach the A/Tk ditches. Buron is out of sight just behind the trees.
Screen 3: The allied barrage has been active for a few minutes and blankets both the German defences north of Buron as well as Buton proper.
Screen 4: The heaviest German counter-barrage of the day falls on the Canadians as they enter the A/Tk ditches. It is a combination both of guns and Nebelwerfer rockets. The scenario has multiple (more than historical) German F.O.O.s to assist the AI to act as historically as possible.
Screen 5: Here a post-battle photo of the church in St. Contest is shown which is often mislabelled in books and on the Web as being in Buron. There was NO church in Buron.
Screen 6: 1st. Troop Sherbrooke Fusiliers was on the right flank and ran into a minefield from which it had to be extricated by a flail.
Screen 7: Often mis-identified as an 88mm gun, the two 75mm A/Tk guns dug in to the south-west of Buron between Buron and Gruchy, was part of the 12ss normal complement. It had two other guns that were destroyed allied artillery in the previous days leading up to the assault.
Screen 8: Part of the suspense in the scenario is waiting to see who wins the A/Tk vs Tk duel. The presence of the A/Tk guns is not a sure thing because at the start of the scenario they are still under the remnants of the barrage called down against Gruchy to the S-W of Buron.
Screen 9: A mixed troop of 79th British Arm.Div. Flails and Crabs was attached to the H.L.I. of C. but there is no detailed record of their activities during the battle in Canadian archives otther than the mention that a Flail recued 1st Trp. S.F. from the minefield on the right.
Screen 10. ditto.

To be continued in Part 2 ...
