[CAUTION GRAPHIC IMAGES] Death pics

Fair enough, I see your point. VR was just over passionate in this instance. Probably from some personal experiences. I see his point too. I too won't comment any further.

I do not have any kind of problem with the pictures which VR posted,i also understand that it is extremelly difficult for him to see a comrade of his being hit, BUT
i DO have a problem when he is calling basically all of FGM members(except himself) Bloodthirsty jerks.
Many of us are former or current members of the Armed forces and as far as i m concerned this Bloodthirsty calling is a huge insult not only for me but for the uniform that i am
wearing.
VR I think it will be wise to apologise for what u ve said and ask Bootie to erase that silly thread,if you still want to post the pictures there is a perspective picture thread where u can post any kind of picture concerning war in Iraq or in Afghanistan.

Anyway, servicemen are not the only ones to see death, injury and suffering every now and again.
Civilian doctors, nurses, paramedics, ambulancemen, police and firemen see it EVERY DAY and don't get traumatised.

Its nice to see few dead taliban , its pity we dont have a running total of how many have been killed , we are always told how many of our poor men killed

So I have said what I wanted more LOUDLY this time, because I was largely ignored last time. Bootie will not change anything on this matter because it does not effect him and it's a kind of censorship. I dont agree with it in large part, but I cannot do anymore about it. I have voiced my opinion.

I suspect you will be largely ignored this time too. Yes admittedly some of us cannot connect with what you've been through but it doesnt make us any less human or inhuman.

As for your mental problems there are people that can help you and really you shouldnt expect sympathy in this relation considering it is a warGAMING club. Its like me going to a religous site and saying hey.. guys... dont wanna talk about Jesus getting nailed to a cross ok?

The comment about most Europeans like seeing Americans getting killed... pah... BULLSHIT. How does 1 or 2 mouths equate to most?
Why post only American soldiers?? Ummmm... it was one post aired on a national TV network??!!! There have been clips of British soldiers getting ambushed etc. placed on this site. Do you see me ripping it down... no it stays up.

And nice attempt at getting at us Europeans by posting some anti-British material. Didnt work and in fact just made me think a lot less of you as a member.

Hey VR when you walked into the recruiting office and joined up, did you think you were going to be posted to a vicars tea party or what?
Didn't it cross your mind that you might get sent where the bullets are flying?

It reminds me of Nam Huey pilot Bob Mason who says in his book "Chickenhawk" that he joined the US Army in the 1960's purely to learn to fly choppers for free, then expected to serve out the remaining 3 years of his enlistment peacefully flying troops around in the USA, after which he'd return to civvy life and become a commercial helo pilot.
However it didn't quite work out like that because no sooner had he qualified than he was sent to a shooting war that'd just started in a place called Nam..

On the same theme, US Marine Robert Caputo tells in his book 'A Rumor of War' about a conversation with a colleague in the sweaty filth of Nam which went something like this-
Caputo:-"I don't like the word 'grunt' because it makes us sound stupid"
Colleague:-"We're all grunts here including you. Nobody forced you to enlist did they?"
Caputo:- "No"
Colleague:- "There ya go!"

PS:- As regards post-combat stress syndrome that some ex-servicemen suffer from, I wish they'd give christianity a shot at helping them get rid of their personal demons.
There was an old Nam saying among troops:- "what happens in the field stays in the field."
The bible says the same thing about just letting it go and moving on with your life-
"[God says] Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland"
(Isaiah 43:18 )

Its like me going to a religous site and saying hey.. guys... dont wanna talk about Jesus getting nailed to a cross ok?
LMAO...good one Bootie!
This is almost like being silly here, if you don't want to see this material don't bloody look, it's the same when people moan about the television programmes if you don't like what you are seeing turn of or choose another station, not rocket science just good old common sense
Amen to that.
Didn't it cross your mind that you might get sent where the bullets are flying?
Good point.

VR, time to let this one go. You have had your say, but I think these guys are all making valid points. As much as I don't like to see US Casualties, they do happen and this is a military wargamming and discusion club. This is a legitimate forum for such discussions.

MOST Europeans tend to LIKE seeing American soldiers getting hurt and killed and I have heard it from 1 or 2 mouths. I have read it and I have seen it 1st hand in the Germans I was surrounded by when I lived there.

I'm a bit surprised by this. And a bit insulted too !
The fact that you speak of Europeans as one group/people tells me you don't understand much of Europe.
Every European nation differs quite much from another. Despite the fact that many of them use the same currency. But that is almost the only thing that binds them. And that they live on the same continent, of course ! Ask any of the European members ! They feel Greek, German, Dutch, English and even Scottish :)RpS_laugh:) first !

A a matter of fact killings of anybody are not shown on Dutch television. So, it is hard for us to revel in anybody's death !

Perhaps what you refer to is the way Americans (I'm generalizing too) tend to act as if they own the world and know best for everybody. At least in the eye of many "Europeans". For us, as Dutch living in a fairly small country, it seems a bit like the Germans behave. Germans are accused of often saying : bei uns ist alles besser" when vsiting other countries. Americans seem to act in the same way and a lot of Americans don't seem to know what is happening in the rest of the world. Relying on "news"reels from FOX TV.

Undoubtedly I missed the plank in someof my reemarks, but it shows that despite we "belong" to the same western civilization, we live different lives !

But there still is hope, because I do belive Jesus is and will be victorious !

Hey...who's acting?!

@ Bert Blitzkrieg :
"Every European nation differs quite much from another."

It's even inside the same country...LOL Look whats happening in Belgium, in the UK between Brits, Welsh, Scots and Irish, in France between the North and the South, in Germany between the West and the East or between so different Länder like protestant Hamburg and catholic Bayern (they don't even speak the same language...), in Italy were the North wants to break away from the South.
When I lived in Germany, I was in the South in Bade Würtemberg. The official motto of the Land was "Wir können alles, ausser Hochdeutsch" (we can do anything, except speaking german...)

I just remembered... the FGM banner used to have lots of blood spots in it, but Bootie later deleted most of them.
That proves he's not bloodthirsty..:)

My internet connection has been down for almost four days, so I've been unable to respond.
Looks like my opinions are rather close with Bootie so I'm not going to waste time and just answer this part
Why post only American soldiers. How about British, or German, etc.?
Because I just happened to stumble upon a video about American soldiers. I was sufring around the net not looking for anything in particular, so I could have found a same kind of a video involving pretty much any nationality. Nationality of the soldier didn't matter at all in my decision to post the video.

Yeah no worries Vart I spoke to Von Reich via email and everything is cool. Thats what I love about this club... despite being at opposite ends of opinion both me and VR have put this to the side and just got on with it. Like I said earlier... no point in anyone falling out over it. :)
