Hi just wondering if anyone else has had issues with CMRT CTD with an out of memory report?

Computer specs are

Win 11
i9-12900k
64GB Ram
RTX 4080 Super
SSD

Cheers

Does this happen with a specific scenario or is it random? The Windows versions of Combat Mission are 32-bit programs, which means they can only use 4 GB of memory address space. Very large or complex maps (especially urban) or huge numbers of units can exceed that limit.

First time I have ever seen this - not happened in any other versions.

I have a Mac

3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9
16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB

I have played CMRT and CMFB with file sizes up to 72Mb on large maps with numerous units. Have not encountered any memory problems yet.

Page file set to 232GB!
Whoa that seems a bit overkill, but hey if you got the HD space that should work. Microsoft recommends 1.5 times your existing memory. So in your case, 64 + 64 + 32 = 160GB. But I don’t think it really matters much, just as long as there’s at least 12GB. Let us know if it helps.

I Read somewhere to set it between 1x Ram for lower limit and 4x Ram for upper limit. I have an SSD with 1.8TB so it probably doesn't even register.

It has made no difference.

Funny thing is when I had a significantly lower spec computer a few years back I had no issues whatsoever.

We need more detail on the error message. It is not clear whether you run out of main memory or video RAM.

Have you messed around with your graphics card control panel settings? I recall several yrs ago I screwed up the textures in CMRT. I had toggled on some kinda transparency AA setting for only CMRT. Didn’t try this for any other CM. What made matters worse was that I didn’t test this setting, I left the game for like a week, forgot all about my experimenting. Took a long time figuring out wtf was happening! :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, if you have messed around with the CP settings then I’d try turning them off. Maybe just delete the profile and recreate it later. I’ve taken pics of my settings so I know exactly what works or doesn’t work. Also check your drivers as well. I’ll check what drivers I’m running for my nvidia card and post when I get a chance. I got two Win 10 PCs that don’t have any trouble running big maps in CMRT.

Cheers - I have not touched the Invidia settings and I'm running the latest patch.

We still need to know if these crashes are all with one specific scenario or if they happen with any scenario.

It was the first custom scenario in the current RT tournament.
