P-40 Warhawk as a kid I just thought these planes were soooo coool... Little did I know that they were good in the war on Japan from China... but was limitted to ground support in the early part of the Pacific Theater... They also fought in the African Desert with little or no success....

Trying to find out how many rounds of 50 caliber they carried (about 600 rounds per gun) I found this site.
Good pics with some good info.

The American Volunteer Group, better known as the Flying Tigers, used the best qualities of their shark mouthed P-40Bs in air combat against the Japanese to record an amazing number of victories.

I liked this pic so I thought I'd post it.
It's from warfarehistorynetwork.com

"A ground crewman waves as a Consolidated B-24 Liberator heavy bomber takes off from an airfield in China while Curtiss P-40 fighters of the American Volunteer Group sit armed and ready for action."

Just admiring the snow piles.

Buffalo is up by the Great Lakes close to Canada and near Niagara Falls.
The cold air coming out of Canada going over the Lakes gives a "Lake effect" that causes a lot of snowfall.
Buffalo averages about 70 inches a year (180cm)
