This is a rare training film (lehrfilm) of a German infantry platoon conducting an attack. Not the greatest quality visually but excellent material nonetheless. It is old and cant be found anywhere so it is preserved up here:

@Los: Thank you for posting this training film. Didn’t know it yet.
Do you know when it was released? I guess not later than in 1942 because of the usage of MG34 and 5cm-mortar.

The film depicts a standard infantry attack conducted against a fortified position and the clearing-out of a forest.
I enjoyed especially the following sequences:

7:25 – suppressing fire of a heavy MG34, no bursts but long sustained fire
10:40 – slowmo: firing the MG34 in the role of a light MG from the hip
11:08 – slowmo: firing the K98 during assault
12:35 – slowmo: firing the MP40 during assault
32:50 – slowmo: hand to hand combat (bayonet)

You see a lot of trench fighting (hand grenades), supporting weapons (mortars, AT-gun, flame throwers), usage of smoke and pole charges as well as advancing under fire and repelling of counterstrikes. Awesome!

(Feel free to ask questions regarding the translation via PM.)

If I remember me right all that films are from 1942. At least the ones one can find at Youtube. The allied training films aren´t so bad either but mostly are from later times. Sadly the most of the NVA films are deleted by now. Had a few good smiles about them.

Greetings :)
