Email issue....

Guys having a problem getting our forum email notifications to work... Im getting hundreds of errors in the Xenforo back room. Does anyone know anything about setting up email for sites like this?

I know a couple of things so might be able to assist.

Basically you need an SMTP server which allows relaying for the domainname that you send the emails from. There might also be a SPF record in the DNS which dictates the mailservers allowed to relay mail for the domainame. But I guess you have the SMTP server already and that is what's giving you the errors?

What's the specific error message in the returned mails?

"Unknown account" is the key there.

You seem to be using a Google smtp server with this account, but it doesn't accept the password. Probably you can change the password in the smtp settings?
