A new entry has been added to Links and Downloads Manager, category MISCELLANEOUS FILES

Description: New Dawn New Day v1.0

Mission 2 is now ready... these take a lot of building. 3 weeks this one took!!

To play these missions requires the user to have ARMAII Combined Arms.

Again I havent fought this one to the end ( I need to learn to fly better ) but will give you some pointers.

Tip 1 - Press M to read your tasks for the day - go through the tasks in the correct order.

Tip 2 - There is a chopper in the FOB to assist you otherwise its a hell of a walk.

Tip 3 - Be careful with that chopper - land a little away from each team.

This mission should prove a real challenge and test your handling of choppers.

An AAR and some pics of the action would be great. And remember this is version 1.0 so Im sure there are some things that can be polished up so let me know if anything fails badly.

Remember you need Combined Arms to play them not just the Arrowhead game.

I have all (was an all time Flashpoint player) patched with last version. I also often use ACE2 mod. Man, I am everyday on armaholic.com loading stuff...

Well if Ithink about it, I would say I have till now spent more time loading and installing patches and stuff than playing...LOL
 
Clarification needed- the chopper is only a tiny 2-seat spotter, so will the rest of my squad have to follow on foot?
 
Bootie, have played till the end and the end trigger will not work, there are no bad guys left. Any help ? I cannot get the 4th mission to end.
 
Hi Bootie, Have made it to the end, but the 4th mission end trigger is not working. Have scoured the vill and no more enemy and played around the 4th OP but no luck, even made it back to base.
 
Right Mission 2 - New Dawn New Day

This mission started with me and the boys standing around the camp fire. lol.

I found my little bird and loaded the boys up and off we went, to check on the SAS OP's manning the road.

As the Boss stated I landed a ways from the way point and legged it in.

I found the boys lazing on the hill in an excellent OP.

They gave me some orders to go check out a house below, looks suspicious to me.

As I made it back down the hill this fella came tearing along on his moped.

I went in and cleared the house, no dramas.

OP 2 wasn't too far away but was situated on a steep hillside so I couldn't land too close.

Found the boys hidden in some rocks, nice OP.

I quickly moved on to OP 3 and got my marching orders

On my way into OP 4 i received incoming fire from a HMG. Evasive action needed.

I wasn't really sure where the fire had come from so I crawled in towards OP 4, bad news I'm afraid.

They were both dead but took some along with them, 4 to be exact.

Not long after arriving my MG started to engage enemy at long range, over 500 m, good result !!

All this was done in one go but here where the brown stuff started to hit the fan.

Down in the enemy village there are 3 pick ups, 1 with a recoiless anti tank rifle, and worst of all a DSHK.

You can see the DSHK below the tree, I took several attempts before a smoke screen got me into the village where I grenaded the DSHK from close range

Finally the village was won, after hard fought battle with the pickups. After taking out the gunners, they just drove around and seemed to be a bit scared to approach me. But taken out never the less.

So overall, I loved it again, but was stumped when I could not trigger the ending. No enemy left and I can't get the last mission at OP 4 to end and go green.
 
New Dawn New Day 1.0

My first attempt ended in defeat after 50 minutes when I was cut down before entering the ville.
This is the final scene, my two guys on the left are down, leaving just me and a mate to return fire; we killed at least 2 enemy but the incoming fire was just too strong for us, and before long I stopped one.
(I left my 4th squad member back in the tree-lined valley after he was wounded by an enemy group and he could only crawl)

A glance at the map shows enemy presence in the ville. One enemy is far south, perhaps he's the one hiding from Wigam that would have triggered his ending..

Ouch that hurt, a stream of big thick tracer got me, it might have come from a heavy MG-

Feedback- Quite enjoyable, only after touching position 4 did the first shooting occur as we headed south (as instructed) on foot into the wooded valley when we encountered a small enemy group in the area, killing them all at the price of one of our guys badly wounded.
I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do after that (the game never instructed me), so I took us on foot towards the village but we were cut down by superior firepower on the outskirts.
I will of course have more cracks at it..:)


EDIT- okay just had a second try with the same result, me and my boys were blown away by overwhelming firepower from the ville, including recoilless rifle fire (gulp).
We took a different route, cresting a ridge so we could see the ville spread out below us and could pick off targets with a clear LOS.
Problem was the range was too great and although we began steadily attriting enemy men, it was taking a lot of ammo to do it, and my guys began reporting "Running short of ammo!"
Then the recoilless vehicle turned up and it was curtains for us.
Next time I'll try to stalk closer to the ville before opening fire so we'll score more hits than misses.
