Without the fear, hate, chaos and adrenaline pounding through their blood they just sound like a bunch a fat dudes charging a McDonalds. I think that the real "Rebel Yell" will forever be lost, it must have been terrifying the first time the Union boys heard it coming at them.

I don't know. A "real" rebel (albeit an old one), giving a "real" rebel yell seems valid to me.
I agree the reenactors look pretty silly and it would be hard to find a less threatening formation.
But if you put that sound in with a bunch of killers it could have been very effective.

Got to give credit to the Civil War Generals for actually being right there in the fight with the lads unlike today. Or to put it better:
