FYI regarding Slitherine's FOG2 Digital League. I believe @olaf already participates in these.

The next Digital League season will start on October 1st (they start each year on 1-Feb, 1-June and 1-Oct without fail).

You should definitely read the Rules of Competition and Players' Guide . . .

. . . and also familiarise yourself with the tournament forum . . .

The very first post in each of the "Arrange Your Matches here" threads give you the instructions for each particular section (these instructions are often modified from season to season)

Versatile armies that can cope with most terrain and enemy army types tend to do better e.g. Carthaginians, Arab Conquest, Andalusians etc.

Too many really good players lurking there for me to get involved in that.

Just started playing again with HOA as my noob pbem opponent.
Forgot how good this game is.

I checked it out.....I’m thinking of doing it. At least in a couple of the tIke periods. It is interesting how you sub,it armies you want, and are given one of your four choices. I like having your own army for the entire tourney.

You get assigned to a division. If you havent played before you will be assigned to the lower divisions where the playing field should be more equal to your own.

But it does give you a tabletop feel......you had your army, or maybe two. But that was all the pocketbook could support!
