I'll be quite honest. That Flying Tigers game looks like a blast. Realistic flight sims have their place, but arcade air shooty shoots do as well. I love both.

Too much arcarde for me - loved BLitzkrieg back the days but it has lost his place against CM for me

HOI4 does look interesting. The trouble with the HOI series (besides a questionable AI) is rather than a game it becomes a lifestyle. I no longer have the stamina for that, but for those that do...
AI is being strengthened via patching. Note that with HOI you are playing a huge "what if" exercise. So you have to develop an AI that has to initiate and/or react to all manner of input and do an intelligent and reasonable job of it. Most people can't do that, so expecting a computer AI to do it is akin to wishing. With that said, if you choose to dominate South America as say Argentina and then compete against superpowers, then so be it. Just remember "what if..."
