Games playable with Windows 7

I expect to find the new games compatible with Win 7, but what of the older one's? I've already been frustrated with Win7 and one of my old favorites, Steel Panthers WaW. Yea, I made the recommended fixes to get rid of the obnoxious color palettes, but I have to make subtle changes to return to desktop and their are a couple other irritating quirks. I may actually build a cheap Win XP computer with internet and email just to continue to play it (C'mon, one of you brainiacs create a game that mimics it or update it for the next generation of OS. It is still one of my favorite games).

What about CS? I had just bought it (via download) just before my XP computer crashed and burned. Will it work with Win7?

I own Panzer Campaigns Kharkov. Will be loading it tonight to see if it works.

I was grateful that CMAK worked properly although haven't tried CMBB. Truth is, I will likely dive into PC Ostfront when (and if) it is released. I presume it will be good with Win7.

Any comments on the subject of Win7 and other games?
 
I've never PBEM a PzC game. I have to admit, I'm a greenhorn at it, but I would give it a go.
 
I had to load the game on the new 'puter and refresh my memory of the interface. I've only played the tutorial and two other scenarios. More like one and a half scenarios. Yea, send me a file. I'll have to read through some directions about playing PBEM using this.

I played out a short scenario last night and two quirks: (a) the screen goes white whenever it scrolls the map. (b) And this one maybe worse than that. Just as the final turn was done processing and before I could look at the map and check score, an error message and premature Windows shutdown. I haven't looked to see if the file was saved or not. Does it have autosave?

The screen going white is much like what would happen with Steel Panthers going black, but at least I could scroll most of the time without it happening. I can't scroll at all without the problem and I have to change the view to get it undone.

I'm getting closer each day to investing in a second computer with XP just for this kind of gaming.
 
Guys keep an eye on the Matrix site. They are releasing a free mega-update (PanzerCommand Ostfront) very soon. I am on the testing team right now and we are ironing out some last minute issues. From what I can tell (I did not have the original game) from the updates they made some significant changes. If you liked Kharkov you will be pleased with the free update. Keep me in mind when this update comes out as I am always up for a PBEM game. Later.
 
Sorry, we may have confused game titles. We were talking about Panzer Campaigns. I plan to purchase Panzer Command Ostfront when it is released, although I don't think it will make before the new year. Have read through some DAR's and am quite intrigued by the title.
 
Recently i have switched my PC to IMAC - then I have 2 OS - one is windows 7-pro (for games, for kids of course ;)
first game had to be CM but --- I had great problems with graphics artifacts so I have bought battlefront patches and now it is working fine - more - I can now run parallels desktop om mac-os and CM is working just fine :)
