Hello all,

It's always good to find a community that shares my somewhat obscure interests! Thanks for allowing me to be a member.

I've been playing tactical war games since the Squad Leader board game days, through TacOps, and now Combat Mission. I recently switched from Mac to PC so only using CMSF2 at the moment, but hope to expand my collection. I never really played consistently, so I consider myself an experienced beginner.

A little about myself: I retired from the US Navy in June after 30 years of service. I was a Naval Flight Officer, flew F-14s before moving on to desk/engineering work for most of my career. So while I'm an experienced fighter guy, infantry tactics were not my specialty in the Navy!

I look forward to setting up some head-to-head matches in the near future.

Greetings, @Captain Cole ! You should soon receive @Hedgehog's Welcome Wagon hand-outs! They make good reading.

When you are ready for some army man H2H play, consider using CMHelper to manage your matches.
Then, post your first request for a match either here or at the forum for the game(s) you own.

Welcome to The Few Good Men. Anchors away. Good luck and good gaming! Have fun.

@Captain Cole Thank you for increasing our FGM ranks. Remember that infantry guys need their combat air support to do their job. Infantry officer 28 years retired.

Given your air frame, you probably did not fly this kind of mission.

Thank you for your dedicated service.

@fabishd Actually we trained for CAS missions quite a bit. In my era we finally started dropping bombs (in addition to the fighter role), so CAS was a significant part of the training pipeline. Fortunately never applied the skill in combat.

Thanks for your service as well! Nice to meet you.
