M.A.X.

I absolutely fell in love with this game when it was released in 1996. My first 4x gaming experience and I was enthralled! And while I played it a LOT, I didn't play it all that long as new games came out weekly back then and I was sidetracked by the new shiny trinket du jour. Never forgot it though and always wished someone had given it a redo, but never happened.

A little over a year ago I remembered the game as I was perusing an old games site and to my surprise I stumbled upon M.A.X. (and M.A.X. 2 of which I know nothing). I DL'd the file containing both games for a whopping $6 and...was sorely disappointed. My pc and graphics card were just too much for it to handle making the UI unplayable. {sigh}

I happened upon the game again yesterday and noticed the text said it was now compatible for Window OS's, even Win 10. Since I'd already paid for it all I had to do was DL o/o their library of games to see if it ran any better. YES! It now runs/looks as good as new (maybe better) running on Win 7 and I am a happy camper. Game is turn based as well as "simultaneous movement". I think that means WEGO but still messing with tutorials (of which there are many) so it may be a while before I can comment.

I am soo looking forward to playing this again. You might want to give it a try if you like this genre. Not much to lose.

It's M.A.X.!!!!!
I fell in love with its gameplay, its score, its style - back when I was 13 or so. Consequently it overwhelmed me (partly because I couldn't understand English properly back then).

Now you give us a link to GOG - mTk, YOU ARE DA MAN !!! :cheers::panzer:

This game did cost me a LOT of sleep. I played it in campaign mode and after a few weeks I discovered how to win each and every time so it lost a little of its appeal. But it brings back memories!
MAX 2 wasn't as nice.
