For those of you who are into the "Cops & Homicide" genre, boy have I got one for you.
The two main actors are the cops, played by Denzel Washington and Rami Malek. Watching them interact is an absolute treat!
You can just feel them working hard at their character and it shows from start to finish. Malek always gets those weird, psycho
rolls because of those huge eyes he has, but in this instance he gets to play it straight which seems to make him even more intense
than usual.
As a side note another detective is played by Natalie Morales as Det. Jaime Estrada. It's a minor role but every time she shows up
on screen she had my attention. Definite "It" factor going on there.
This is a psychological thriller not an action flick. Which I found very refreshing. I'm getting more than a little tired with movies that are
all gunfire and explosions with no real story line.
Oh, there is no 15-year-old girl who comes to the rescue of the clueless male detectives and takes down the killer with her combat skills.
The ending is a bit ambiguous so be prepared.
