Ok the answer is the BF- 109E, with a total of nearly 36,000 produced.

I thought is was the Zero and that is how I voted before I looked at the answer.

I voted for the Zero as well, figuring it would have the lead based on its naval variant as well.

Numnbers -- you set the question wrong ... the 36000 applies to all marks of the Bf-109 ... from the E to the K version , not just the Bf-109E ;-)
