That is so appropriate. I remember the first time I saw my son's long blond hair transformed to purple. "It's not purple Da, it's magenta!"
And don't even get me started on the piercings...
 
I think I weeded the urges from my kids by taking them to the Mall and sitting them down to watch the people walk by, making fun of them and pointing out how ridiculous they look.. of course they were probably doing the same thing to us, but we're still looking normal.... I think..

Well I really couldn't take issue with him, as I raised him to be an independent thinker. Then there's the fact that he is the fruit that didn't fall far from the tree. With my hair down to my arse, who am I to talk.
 
oh my brats are as independent as one can imagine, granted life is yours to live it as you wish, though I hope they choose the practical path that lets them see the actual results of some decisions made by others, before they go make them on their own..

sorta like making them read and recreate accidents involving autos so they can see what happened and what caused it, now that they want to learn to drive, as it takes lots of decisions and reactions to survive out there on the highways.
