Hello everyone,

I'm excited to share a project I've been working on for Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy Operation Dauntless a two-player, dynamic campaign set during the brutal fighting around Rauray in June 1944.

This isn't just a series of linked scenarios. It's a full "operational-level" game where you command persistent forces across a hex-based map. Every tactical decision you make in Combat Mission—every victory, every loss—has lasting consequences for the rest of the campaign.

Core Features:
  • Fluid Frontline: Manoeuvre your counters on a strategic map to initiate battles where you choose.
  • Persistent Units: Your forces carry over from battle to battle. Manage their strength, avoid disastrous losses, and time your reinforcements wisely.
  • Asymmetric Forces: Command historically-inspired British attacking forces or elite German defenders, each with their own reinforcement schedule and force restrictions.
  • Deep yet Streamlined: The rules handle everything from force commitment and retreats to operational movement, all designed to be managed easily in PowerPoint or similar tools.
I've aimed to capture the feel of commanding at the operational level—where force preservation and strategic planning are just as important as tactical brilliance.

This is a V0.2 release, and I'm looking for play testers to take it for a spin. I'm eager for feedback on balance, flow, and clarity. Everything you need is attached, including the campaign rules, map, and counter assets.

You can find the files here: Operation Dauntless

The campaign uses a map from GMT's Operation Dauntless and unit icons from JuJu's fantastic CMBN UI mod.

I hope you enjoy it, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Cheers
