I've found myself playing CM less and less as time goes on. It's not that I've fallen out of love with the game—quite the opposite—but I simply no longer have the luxury of sitting down for those multi-hour sessions. The demands of family and work have eaten up my free time. I still manage to play, but it’s mostly single-player now, letting me sneak in a few quick turns whenever I get a moment. Is anyone else in the same boat.

Has your consumption of the game series that started this channel changed?

When the new CM launches will it reinvigorate your consumption?

Just musings....

Cheers.

Don't play at all now. Don't even have the games installed. I don't play against AI as I simply can't get invested in the game the same way you do against a real opponent.
I won't commit to a PBEM unless I can guarantee a turn a day or near to it, and as I'm often on the road for 3-4 days at a time, that's not going to happen.

Still playing and enjoying the game, but less than before due to real life commitments. IMO, the biggest strength of CM is the support it gets from its community (tourneys, scenarios, modes etc).

All the points above. I like to have a H2H going, can just dip in and play a turn a day, but I also do the single player. SP is handy because I can do a short couple of turns, no game pressure, and do RL stuff as well. I find a lot of games I enjoy nowadays need time to invest, they’re not easy to dip in and out because of the learning curve.

I’ve also been playing around with the editor over the last few years to try and build a more engaging SP experience. Using triggers and some of the other AI stuff. The benefit of having a crap memory, I create an AI plan, go back a few months later and I can’t remember a thing of what I set up. Play the scenario, then go back on my script notes and go… ahhhhh, that worked or didn’t. All at my own pace. I’ve been building a Market Garden campaign for the last 3 years :ROFLMAO:

Playing the games have went way down since there is not much I have not played at some point.

So thus the reason for messing with designing battles. At least it gives me something new to focus on, but I would prefer h2h play on new stuff,

Just hanging in there waiting for the time CMx3 comes. It for sure will bring back more interest for me, I can already tell it will tax me with having to re-learn things once again.

Yeah same here... my steam account is ridiculous.
So's mine....and I am not counting all the games I have on physical media laying around...I should have started my gaming fixation when I was like 4 years old and I might be halfway done at 66...
