QOTD #5 - What had more value... the Maginot or the Siegfried line?

The Maginot Line had a more important role in history as it sustained most of the french defense policy from the 30's and one of the causes of its defeat. The Siegfried line had some value in the defense of Germany in the allied advance, but I'm not sure if it did something great than deter a greatest advance in late 1944 (additionally to the lack of fuel).
