I was struck dumb when I found out that in British Columbia they don't have many snow shovels and scraper. So here is what I use and why after many years of moving snow.

The following straight push shovel is what I use to move snow off of steps, and close to building. I have tried the ergonomically made hand shovel and they hurt the back more...at lease for me. I use long handled shovels because when your 6' 4" you need it! LOL

The following pic is my favorite...moves lots of snow with little effort. The key is having a shovel and these two do...have a strip of metal along the bottom helps with wear and tear .
Note the bent handle no lifting required just push down and the front comes up. I use plastic type shovels...they are lighter and snow and ice don't stick to them as much as metal.

Now for Ice and snow scrapers...again in BC some people don't have these either.
This one is for small jobs and good for your mirrors some times I have to scrape inside the car and these come in handy.

The following is great for cleaning the out side windows etc. When purchasing these make sure you get a brush that the head is soft but not to much. (kind of like buying melons) You get one with hard bristles and you will scratch your paint. To soft and they won't move the snow.

So there you have it my picks...Yes there are snow blowers etc but this is for the small jobs of 12 or less inches. ;)
