Tank Crews

They have thought about it and have decided they don't want re-crewing. In WW2 re-crewing on the battle field has been determined as not common. The exception would be platoon and company commanders but mostly once a crew is unhorsed they head back behind friendly lines to fight again another day. Crews with damaged tanks also withdraw and fight again another day.

BFC has said they don't want to open issues with crack crews on cheap tanks swapping rides with conscript crews of quality tanks and thus giving people a way to circumvent points. So, they could do this on a specific tank type basis but then we might not be very happy with that since with platoons with mixed types we would be pretty restricted on who could re-crew.

So, that's a lot of work for something that was historically not common. You can get Platoon and Company commanders back in command by getting them to a radio. So get them to board a HT or other vehicle that has a radio or ride the back of another tank - for titles that support that.

Don't shoot the messenger :D
