Although contact might not be what we actually want......

Yeah it's something I often wonder about when watching videos about the Fermi Paradox. It seems like the simple and obvious solution to why we never made contact, yet it's rarely mentioned.

Yeah, we tend to forget how big space is...and how small we are. Which may be a good thing. We are well hidden.
I mean what are the chances, if we make contact with an alien life form they will be friendly, benevolent and here to help?
Sorta like the government.

I'd guess religion would keep rolling along. Those religious folk would just come up with some tenet or another in their favor, whoever they might be.
