NORFOLK (July 20, 2009) Engineman 2nd Class Robert Bender, assigned to the Riverine Squadron (RIVRON) 1 security team, provides security for the extraction of a suspected insurgent from his hiding place to a riverine patrol boat during a simulated raid. One of the many capabilities of a Riverine security team is to find, capture and extract persons in a maritime environment.
